Herbal Medicine

Herbal formulas work so differently than anything in the western world. Most Western drugs act as Band-Aids, and often we can see significant side effects. Herbal Formulas actually help to make the body stronger. Depending on a pet’s age and underlying concerns, a pet may require lifelong herbal therapy if they have an initial positive response. Also, sometimes as their body gets stronger, their herbal requirements may change over time. The most common side effect we see with herbal treatment is loose stool, and this occurs in less than 5% of pets on herbs. Typically, if the herbal dosage is reduced, the loose stool resolves. 

I have been pursuing my herbal certification through Chi University since 2019 and will compete the certification process by the end of 2022. In my experience herbal medicine can have one of the biggest positive impacts on patients entering hospice care. Herbal medicine can help to improve total body comfort and help to more easily maintain chronic internal medicine disorders such as Cushing’s, inflammatory bowel disease and organ dysfunction (such as Kidney and Liver disease). Herbal Medicine can help restore balance in the body, which ultimately promotes good quality of life for your pet.

If we place an herbal order, the herbal formulas will be shipped directly from Jing Tang to your home. Typically, this can take about 1 week. If your pet is currently on herbs, it is best to reach out for a refill when you have a two week supply remaining.
